Members of th edepartment contribute their topics in hybrid form to ASSETS 2025.

ASSETS 2025 took place from October 26-29 in Denver, Colorado. Even though members of the department were unable to attend the conference in person, they were able to place our department topics in relevant scientific discussions and submit a paper as part of hybrid workshops.

AT@Work: Intelligent Assistive Technologies for Enabling Workplace Inclusion

Henrik Sellmann, who is researching hybrid collaboration as part of the PRAESCO research project, published the results of a scoping review (Sellmann et al. 2025). When looking at studies on the topic of hybrid work, it was found that people with disabilities have hardly been included in this field of research to date.

In addition, the workshop emphasized the importance of technology for the different needs of people with disabilities in the workplace and presented a wide range of possible applications.

Participant recruitment in accessibility research

Jana-Sophie Effert, whose research focuses on ways and methods of involving people with disabilities in software development processes, took part in the workshop on recruitment in accessibility studies. Over three days, methods and models for recruiting participants as well as criteria for eligibility and verification procedures were discussed. Particular attention was paid to ethical aspects and issues relating to the sustainable recruitment of study participants.
