At the conference in Dortmund, which focused on "Opportunities and risks for participation in a changing world of work", the department was able to contribute various perspectives.

The conference opened with a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Frauke Mörike entitled "From barriers to bridges: shaping participation in times of digital transformation". She presented various perspectives on participation from her professional and academic practice to the audience of around 100, stating that different perspectives are necessary for the realization of participation. Afterwards, JProf. Dr. Lena Hünefeld and Sophie Teborg presented the research project "Quality of Participation" with a specific focus on the results. Possible solutions and the need for solutions were discussed, particularly with regard to (new) challenges in gainful employment, which met with lively interest in the discussion with the plenum. The participants of the conference were then able to deepen their knowledge from the presentations in workshops, two of which were organized in collaboration with the department. Together with Franziska Greis (BAuA), Christoph Burzlaff and Prof. Dr. Frauke Mörike worked on various success factors and challenges of inclusive teamwork under the title "Inclusive teamwork taking into account the use of technology". Dr. Tomke Gerdes, together with Dr. Marie Heide (University of Cologne), offered a workshop on the role of representatives for severely disabled employees.
