"Initiating and strengthening inclusive professional worlds" (IBiS)
Inclusive recruitment of people with disabilities in the economy sector.
IBiS
Background and objectives
The project aims to analyze the framework conditions for inclusive job placements by people with disabilities in business-related companies and to develop innovative approaches for skills-based job descriptions.
A technology park in Berlin served as an exemplary location for the study. The focus is on analyzing the status quo of current job advertisement practices and identifying key success factors for inclusive recruitment. To this end, qualitative interviews were conducted in four companies at the Adlershof Technology Park.
The aim of these interviews is to identify success factors and best practices for filling vacancies in an economically competitive environment. In particular, the adaptation of job profiles, the attitudes of employers, the design of working environments and support measures were examined.
Semi-structured interviews were used as a method. The data obtained was anonymized and evaluated using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
Application objective
Based on the study results, a practical guide was developed to help companies create inclusive working environments and address the shortage of skilled workers by integrating people with disabilities. The ‘Leitfaden zur Erstellung einer inklusiven Stellenbeschreibung’ (German) can be downloaded here.
Project Extension
The project has been extended by a further six months. During this period, the scope of the project will be expanded to include inclusive training and inclusive recruitment of trainees. Further semi-structured interviews will be conducted on this basis.
