Artificial intelligence for inclusive onboarding processes in mixed-ability teams
Inclusive onboarding for people with and without disabilities in administration through AI-based assistance system
KI-InnOMATiV
Background and objectives
The project "KI-InnOMATiV - Artificial Intelligence for Inclusive Onboarding in Mixed-Ability Teams in Administration" aims to strengthen the participation of people with disabilities in the labor market and to make staff induction in administrations more efficient and inclusive.
To this end, a participatory development approach is chosen that is based on close cooperation with people with disabilities and relevant stakeholders from the administration. By analyzing existing work processes and developing an adaptive assistance system, individual needs, strengths and learning styles of new employees are to be identified and supported in a targeted manner. Using complex AI technologies such as process mining and large language models, the system can provide contextual information, translate forms and rules into understandable language and explain roles or expectations to the entire team. In this way, barrier-free and productive working environments can be created for diverse teams.
As a collaborative partner, TU Dortmund University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Frauke Mörike, is playing a central role in analyzing the socio-technical work system through field-based user research and translating identified needs into interactive assistance systems. In doing so, TU Dortmund University focuses on occupational participation that goes beyond barrier-free technologies.
Application goal
The intelligent onboarding assistance system is intended to provide new employees, whether with or without disabilities, with targeted support, integrate them at an early stage and thus enable professional participation for all. The knowledge gained will flow directly into the technical development of the AI onboarding system as well as into practice-oriented recommendations for the design of the same. The practical usability of the assistance system is ensured by seamless integration as a browser plug-in into existing web-based management applications. The technical implementation is supported by the two industry partners fabbrain and Adnexxus.
