Conference paper at the Association of European Qualitative Researchers in Psychology
At the three-day conference "Association of European Qualitative Researchers in Psychology" (EQuiP) in Milan, Franziska Günther presented her scientific poster entitled "Connected in Online Psychotherapy: An ethnographic study on patients' digital therapy experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic".
From June 26 to 28, 2024, the second international conference of the Association of European Qualitative Researchers in Psychology (EQuiP) took place at the University of Milan-Bicocca. This conference brought together leading experts and young researchers from all over Europe who are involved in qualitative research in psychology.
Franziska Günther attended the conference and presented her ethnographic study on virtual psychotherapy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her research highlights important aspects of digital therapy, including the therapeutic relationship, the impact of physical separation on patients and therapists, and the importance of space in different settings. Especially in times of the pandemic, it has become clear how essential digital transformation is in the field of psychotherapy.
Numerous lectures, poster presentations and discussion panels promoted constructive dialog between different research traditions and disciplines. Participants were able to present the latest research findings, discuss innovative methods and establish valuable networks for future collaborations.
The diversity of the topics presented was noteworthy, ranging from the application of qualitative methods in different psychological contexts to theoretical discussions on the future of qualitative research. This diversity underlined the broad applicability and importance of qualitative research in modern psychology.
Overall, the EQuiP conference provided an inspiring forum that promoted knowledge transfer and collaboration within the European research community. Franziska Günther and her colleagues returned with new insights and inspiration for their further research.
