By car

The campus of the Technical University of Dortmund is located near the Dortmund West highway junction, where the A45 Sauerland highway crosses the B1/A40 Ruhr expressway. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to Campus South, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 to Campus North. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S-Bahn line S1 runs every 15 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. The university can also be reached by bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association, and DSW21 also offers an interactive route network map.

The H-Bahn

The H-Bahn is one of the landmarks of TU Dortmund University. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Center via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 runs every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this route in two minutes.

By airplane

From Dortmund Airport, you can take the AirportExpress to Dortmund Central Station in just over 20 minutes and from there take the S-Bahn to the university. Düsseldorf Airport, around 60 kilometers away, offers a wider range of international flight connections and can be reached directly by the S-Bahn from the university station.

Human and Computer 2024

The department was present at the conference "Human and Computer" (MuC) 2024 in Karlsruhe with a large number of contributions. A total of five publications were presented: two short papers and three workshop contributions by Frauke Mörike, Franziska Günther and Jana-Sophie Effert. Christoph Burzlaff was also a panelist in the panel discussion "The State of (In)Accessibility in Academia".

At this year's MuC (2024), we were able to share various research results and current work in progress with the human-machine interaction community. In two short papers, we presented challenges in field access to hybrid work realities(https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3670653.3677497) and the importance and impact of content awareness in the hybrid office (https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3670653.3677523).

We also reported on neurodivergence and the use of these tools(https://doi.org/10.18420/muc2023-mci-ws10-484) in a workshop we co-organized on accessibility in collaborative text editing tools (DOI: 10.18420/muc2024-mci-ws10-116), and presented on the rehabilitation science view of usability methods in another workshop (https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-64118-7_5)

Christoph Burzlaff was a panelist at the panel discussion "The State of (In)Accessibility in Academia". In an inspiring round, the question of how (in)accessible the academic world is from different perspectives was discussed.

The conference "Human and Computer" in Karlsruhe provided a very inspiring setting to present the results on hybrid working practices and informal knowledge exchange and to hold numerous valuable discussions.
