During the current summer semester as well, approximately 25 students were able to visit the workshop as part of the seminar “The System of Workshops for People with Disabilities (WfbM) — (No) Prospects for School Graduates from Vulnerable Groups?” under the guidance of Christoph Burzlaff.

Workshops for people with disabilities (WfbM) continue to be at the center of social debates. Issues such as compensation, transition rates, and legal frameworks are widely discussed, but often without involving the employees at these facilities. As part of the course “The System of Workshops for People with Disabilities (WfbM)—(No) Prospects for School Graduates from Vulnerable Groups?” students in the Special Education Teacher Training program were able to not only engage with the subject matter theoretically but also enrich their understanding with practical experiences through the field trip. In particular, the diverse insights gained into a workshop, as well as the dialogue with staff members, helped generate new perspectives and stimulated reflection on this topic.
