As early as the end of March, Christoph Burzlaff gave a presentation at the 35th Rehabilitation Science Colloquium in Leipzig

Under the title “Vocational Rehabilitation in Vocational Training Centers: Digitalization and New Requirements for People in Rehabilitation?” Christoph Burzlaff provided insights into the initial findings of a study showing that the baseline digital competencies of people in rehabilitation at vocational training centers vary widely, which is why individual rehabilitation measures must address different levels of digital competency. In light of this, Christoph Burzlaff put forward the thesis that, for successful reintegration, both digital literacy and digital fluency at a high level of proficiency are indispensable. In particular, the complexity of teaching digital literacy carries the risk that participants with low initial digital literacy will not reach this proficiency level by the end of the program, and that reintegration efforts will not yield the desired results.

In particular, the stimulating discussions with longtime colleagues and new faces, the critical yet constructive exchange of ideas, and new insights from academia and practice greatly enriched my time in Leipzig. In particular, the diverse and numerous presentations on vocational rehabilitation delivered to packed auditoriums provided comprehensive new insights.
